KNOXVILLE (WATE) – University of Tennessee student Brooke Vines made her USA Softball debut during the World Cup of Softball XI this week. The competition was held in Oklahoma City.
The outfielder helped the USA team get to the Bronze Medal game. The team lost to Australia 4-3.
The rising sophomore scored a run in the team’s games against the Czech Republic, Mexico, Canada and New Zealand. Vines received two hits, four runs, two RBIs and two walks during the tournament.
During her freshman year at UT, she was named a member of the All-SEC Freshman Team and the NFCA All-Southeast Region third team. She made 63 hits and had 19 stolen bases.
