KNOXVILLE (WATE) – IHOP was founded 58 years ago and the restaurant chain is celebrating.
Guests can receive a short stack of pancakes for 58 cents Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. According to the restaurant, this is four cents less than what a short stack cost in 1958.
The first IHOP opened in Toluca Lake, California. The chain now has restaurants in 50 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and the Philippines.
Original Buttermilk Pancakes is the most popular menu item for the restaurant. The company serves around 314 million slices of hickory smoked bacon each year. Also, the chain claims it fulfills 368 customized orders per minute.
