Krusteaz blueberry pancake mix recalled due to E. coli threat

TUKWILA, WA (WCMH) — Krusteaz Blueberry Pancake Mix is being recalled from stores because it may be contaminated with E.coli 0121, according to a press release from Continental Mills.

Any 28oz packages of Krusteaz Blueberry Pancake Mix, with best by dates of 3/3/2018-6/16/2018 and 3.5lb packages with best by dates of 3/30/2018 and 6/16/2008 should not be consumed.

Although most strains of E. coli are harmless, others can make you sick. E. coli O121 is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause bloody diarrhea and dehydration. Seniors, the very young, and persons with compromised immune systems are the most susceptible to foodborne illness.

Customers who have purchased these products should discard any unused portions and contact Continental Mills at 1-800-457-7744 for information about a full refund.

Continental Mills ­­said that a supplier informed the company that blueberry nuggets used in the pancake mix could contain flour recalled by General Mills due to the presence of E. coli.
