Things to do in East Tennessee: July 8-10

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – There will be plenty of events in East Tennessee for families and music lovers to enjoy. Outdoor lovers and racing enthusiasts can be entertained this weekend.

Friday

Paramlee

The country band will be performing at the Cotton Eyed Joe at 10 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online for $10. There is an additional door charge for attendees who are between 18 and 20-years-old.

The Tennessee Theatre will be showing the classic movie as a part of its Summer Movie Magic series. The film features Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. The showing begins at 8 p.m. and doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for children under the age of 12 and adults who are at least 65-years-old. Friday-Saturday

Great Southern Truck and Tractor Pull 

Preador Sled Rental is hosting the family event. There will be hot rod tractors, mini trucks, stock trucks, diesel trucks and more. The event at the Sevier County Fairgrounds will start at 7 p.m. each day. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 7 to 12. Children 6-years-old or younger can attend for free.

Saturday

Dinosaurs and Fossils Family Fun Day

The McClung Museum will host a free Dinosaurs and Fossils Family Fun Day on from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be tours, crafts and other activities.

Mountain Moonshine Classic

Smoky Mountain Speedway is hosting the event. It is a part of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt series. Racers will be competing for $12,000. Pit gates open at noon. Grandstand and tier gates open at 3 p.m. The race starts at 6 p.m.

Sunday 

Cars and Coffee

Harper’s Auto Square is hosting the event at West Town Mall. There will be cars, vendors and more. Attendees are asked to come from Montvue Road. The event is from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Cades Cove Run/Walk and Pancake Breakfast

The event will feature a 4-mile, 8-mile and 11-mile run and walk. It is opened to all levels. After the event there will be a pancake breakfast. Attendees are encouraged to bring something to share with other runners. The free event starts at 7 a.m. in the Cades Cove Picnic area. For more information, visit the run’s website.
