ONEIDA (WATE) – A Scott County hospital announced that it is no longer taking emergency room patients Monday.
Pioneer Community Hospital of Scott hung posters outside of the building informing potential patients. The signs read:
“Due to our ER doctors not being present, our Emergency Room has been placed on state of diversion and unable to see any patients in the ER at this time.”
The facility sees around 25 to 30 patients in the emergency room each day and 30 outpatients. There are 57 full-time and 23 part-time employees.
The hospital says outpatient services are still running at the facility. Pioneer is set to close July 1. It is the county’s only hospital.
