KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Roane County Sheriff’s Office is giving residents the opportunity to be prepared for an active shooter event.
The office will be hosting an exercise on July 14 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m at the Roane Alliance Building, 1209 North Kentucky Street in Kingston.
Participants will be trained by going through the Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course. The course goes over the history and prevalence of events, the roles of law enforcement, options for civilian response, medical issues and drills.
The course is free to chamber members and $35 for non-chamber members. Participants can become chamber members by paying $100 per year.
