LOUISVILLE, K.Y. (WATE) – Interstate 65 is back open after it was shut down for more than five hours near Downtown Louisville.
At around 9:00 p.m. Sunday, witnesses said a man climbed on to a sign that stretched over Interstate 65 at the Saint Catherine Street Exit. While police and firefighters tried to talk the man down, traffic was shut down in both directions.
According to WHAS, witnesses said the man could be seen talking on his cell phone. Once the man came down from the overpass sign around 2:30 a.m., traffic started to move again.
It’s unclear who the man was or why he climbed up the sign. He did make it down safely was taken to a hospital.
