TAZEWELL (WATE) – The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding a missing man with dementia.

Eugene “Jack” Elmore, 78, was last seen on Monday around 6:30 p.m. in the Clouds and Midway community. Deputies say he has early signs of dementia and requires assistance to move around.

He is described as a white male standing around 6-foot-1, weighing around 200 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing carpenter-style blue jeans, a short sleeved button-up shirt and beige colored slip-on shoes.

Elmore drives a black 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab with Tennessee tag 013-BNB. The truck has 20-inch wheels and chrome step rails. Elmore is believed to be in the vehicle, possibly in a wooded are or farm in or near Claiborne or Union counties.

The sheriff’s office is asking all farmers in that area to check their property in an effort to find Elmore. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 immediately.
