CARYVILLE (WATE) – A Caryville man was sentenced to more than 13 years in federal prison after he was convicted of possessing and sharing thousands of images of child pornography online.
Robert Breon Evans, 60, pleaded guilty in February to federal charges stemming from an undercover investigation into the distribution of child pornography via peer-to-peer file sharing software. After undercover investigators downloaded child porn images from his computer, a search warrant was issued at Evans’s residence. A search of his computer found thousands of images and video of child pornography, much of which had been made available for others to download.
Evans was sentenced Wednesday to 160 months in federal prison. He will also be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for 15 years and placed on the sex offender registry.
