NASHVILLE (WATE) – The music may continue in the fictional version of the Music City. Entertainment Weekly reports the makers of “Nashville” are near a deal with cable channel CMT to continue the show.
ABC cancelled “Nashville” after four seasons, citing low ratings. The final episode ended with a cliffhanger as Juliette’s (Hayden Panettiere) plane went down.
EW reports there is also a Hulu element to the deal, but it’s not yet clear if show stars Panettiere and Connie Britton will return. Lionsgate TV has called the two essential to the show’s continuation in the past and other news outlets report the two are still under contract.
It’s also not clear if the show will continue to film in Nashville. The show led to a tourism boom in the city.
