CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Police officers in Clarksville had to use irritants to force a man from his house hours after he fired gunshots at a neighbor’s car and pointed a gun at police.
Police initially showed up to the house on Lacy Lane near Coy Lacy Park just after 9:30 Monday night when gunshots were fired.
Police said the man had shot at a car with a man, his pregnant wife and a two-year-old child inside. One gunshot hit the vehicle, but no one was hurt.
According to police, the man then pointed his gun at officers and went into his house where he barricaded himself in.
Officers closed down the area while negotiators talked with the man.
Police eventually used an irritant to force him out, and arrested him.
The man was later transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
According to a spokesperson with Clarksville police, the man will face at least four counts of aggravated assault.
