MEDIC blood donors to receive free tickets to Pigeon Forge Titanic attraction

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – People who donate blood on Wednesday to MEDIC blood drive locations around East Tennessee will receive a free ticket to the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge.

Several recent traumas have left MEDIC with a lower than expected supply of blood. Officials say summer is historically a difficult period for donors to make time to give blood and MEDIC is counting on special events to remind people of the importance.

Because of the Zika virus, there are new restrictions on blood donors. If you have been out of the country in the past 28 days, you need to call MEDIC at (865) 524-3074 to confirm their eligibility.
