Knox County man tries to run over deputies, chased through North Knoxville

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knox County man was arrested after trying to run over two members of law enforcement Tuesday.

Knox County Sheriff’s Office says Mylon McCorkle, 41, tried to run over two deputies after law enforcement responded to a call at Shilo Trailer Park. The report says the call referred to a man threatening to kill people with a machete, gas can and a stick.Knox County chase

The suspect fled the scene in a red Nissan Xterraa and tried to hit Officer Russell Kuhlman who was on foot and Officer Patrick Troutman who was in a patrol car.

Troutman and two others chased the suspect on Clinton Highway.

WATE 6 On Your Side had a crew following the chase near Dameron Avenue and Lee. The chase ended with patrol cars surrounding the vehicle on Dameron and Way.

McCorkle faces charges for aggravated assault, driving on a revoked license and other traffic charges.
