KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The 100 Black Men of Greater Knoxville, Inc will be holding an event to support young people in the area.
The organization’s 2016 Gala will be held June 4 at 7 p.m. The event will feature former UT point guard Bobby Cornell Maze. Maze is a coach in the Amateur Athletic Union.
The event will honor the life Zaevion Dobson, a 15-year-old who died saving his friends.
The Knoxville organization supports young men through programs focusing on mentoring, scholarship, education, and health and wellness.
WATE 6 On Your Side’s Kristen Holloway and Brandon Rook will be emceeing the event.
The gala will be held at the Holiday Inn near World’s Fair Park. Attendees can purchase tickets for $60 from officers of the organization: Eston Williams, Rick Staples, Charles Brown and Brandon McGill.
