KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Knoxville residents will soon see many bike riders across town.
The Tour De Knox is April 24. The event will include the tour and a bike rally.
The event benefits Legacy Parks. The conservation foundation works to set aside land for the benefit of the community. The organization helped create the South Loop Trail which connects to Ijams Nature Center, Ross Marble and Mead’s Quarries and more.
Tour De Knox will feature a safety drill, a ride around the University of Tennessee campus and Downtown Knoxville.
The safety drill will provide riders with maps of the routes. The drill begins at 2 p.m. The Tour begins at 2:30 p.m.
Free bike rentals are available on a first-come first-served basis. All riding levels are welcomed to the event. Riders under the age of 16 must be accompanied by someone 16-years-old or older.
Throughout the course, there will be checkpoints for riders to earn the chance to receive prizes. Prizes for the free raffle will be drawn at 4 p.m.
To participate in Tour De Knox, the price is $15 for adults and $10 for students. The fee includes a free t-shirt. Registration is available online.
