SEVIERVILLE (WATE) – A new facility opened up last weekend to take in animals without homes in Sevier County.
Pets Without Parents is a non-profit shelter in Sevierville. It’s been open for about five years, but they’ve outgrown their last building. The shelter held an open house Saturday to introduce people to their new building.
“Today when I can put on something besides old grubbies and come in here and look at the enthusiasm of the people who have come through and see this dream come alive, it is an incredible feeling,” said secretary for board of directors Linda Wheeler.
The grandparents of Gregory Horan, the teen who died from heart disease last summer on a ropes course at Ijams Navitat Canopy, dedicated a special area for cats in the new facility in his honor.
