Hansford Lee Hatmaker, 74, was arrested during a round-up by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department. Hatmaker was charged with two counts of buying and distributing drugs.

City Administrator Jim Jeffries says Hatmaker will remain a city council member pending the outcome of court proceedings.

“I’ve spoken with the mayor and all of the council and they express their regrets that something like this has happened,” said Hatmaker.

Sheriff Robbie Goins says “We’ve been doing drug buys and uncover work for close to a year so we gather up this information. We’ve done some search warrants. Mr. Hatmaker was a prescription medication buy.”
