Cats to put best foot forward in Knoxville competition

Annual Cat Fanciers Association Cat Show will put cats head to head in competition

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Some people are dog lovers and others prefer cats. The Tennessee Valley Cat Fanciers, Inc. wants to provide cat lovers with fun.

The organization’s Cat Show will be held March 26. This is the 39th show the group has hosted. The event celebrates the cats and provides animal fans to see more than 40 breeds.

More than 200 cats of all ages will compete in a variety of divisions at the event. Fans are able to enter their pets into the competition.

Cats and kittens will be available for adoption at the event. The organization is partnering with Young-Williams Animal Shelter, Feral Felines of East Tennessee and the Stray Connection. The non-profits work to find homes for the animals.

Also, guests can shop from a variety of vendors in attendance. Vendors include: Siamese Rescue, Smoky Mountain Cat House, Pet Supplies Plus, Federal Feline Furniture.

The event will be at the Chilhowee Park Jacob Building from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Cat lovers can purchase tickets at the door. Tickets are $4 for seniors and students and $6 for adults.
