Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrests armed robbery suspect

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with the robbery of a market in Knox County Saturday night.

Tony Lynn Nix, 45, was arrested outside the Halls Walmart around 5 p.m. Monday. He is charged with robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is being held on $85,000 bond.

Nix was wanted for robbing Allstar Market, 8920 Maynardville Highway, around 7:45 p.m. Saturday. He was armed with a pistol and demanded money. No one was hurt. A KCSO helicopter searched for Nix for a time after the robbery.

He has a criminal history in Knox County that includes liquor, public intoxication, assault and aggravated assault.
