Knox County 14-year-old crashes 4-wheeler, 2 injured

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A 4-wheeler crash involving two teenagers occurred on Bud Hawkins Road near Shelton Road Wednesday.

Knox County Sheriff’s Office said a 14-year-old was driving southbound on Bud Hawkins Road. Deputies said the owner of the 4-wheeler, a 13-year-old girl, was a passenger.

According to the incident report, the driver did not have a license. According to investigators, the driver claims he forgot there was a curve in the roadway and the 4-wheeler was unable to stop, driving off the road.

Investigators believe the driver and passenger were not under the influence at the time. Both teenagers were transported to University of Tennessee Hospital for injuries. They believe the driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
