Knoxville glow run plans to paint the town orange

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Knoxville running enthusiasts will soon be exercising in the dark. A glow run is set for May 20 in Worlds Fair Park.

REV3Glow Run will consist of a 5K and 1-mile run. Participants can go at their own pace, the races will not be timed. Also, there will be a finish line with smoke and lasers.

Organizers encourage runners to wear bright and shiny attire. Prizes will be given for the brightest, flashiest and most reflective clothing.

It is suggested for runners to wear regular running shoes, workout attire, and a small headlamp or flashlight.

Participants will be painting the town neon orange by receiving a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt and glow stick. Also, registration includes access to the two shows. The shows will be before and after the race. It will feature music and other entertainment.

The event will begin at 8:05 p.m. Runners can check-in and receive information starting at 6:30 p.m. To register, visit the Rev 3 Adventure website. Registration costs are $20 for the 1-mile run and $30 for the 5K. However, prices will go up closer to the event.
