2 Tennessee universities ban hoverboards

NASHVILLE (WKRN) – Students and visitors at two Middle Tennessee universities will no longer be able to use hoverboards, starting Monday.

Middle Tennessee State University and Austin Peay State University will no longer allow the personal scooters on school grounds.

The schools also ban students and staff from storing hoverboards on campus.

School leaders say fire and safety risks played a role in their decision.
