Human remains discovered in Fentress County

JAMESTOWN (WATE) – The Fentress County Sheriff’s Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are looking into human remains discovered in a rural part of the county.

The sheriff says the remains were found by people digging for arrowheads in the southeastern part of the county on Monday. Since then, the remains have been brought to the forensic center in Knoxville for identification.

There are some active missing persons cases in Fentress County, but until the remains are identified, there is no way to know if any of them are connected.
