Update: Harriman police say after further investigation, the two were bail bond agents looking for a wanted person with a similar name to the woman who made the original report.
They say there is no longer a cause for concern.
HARRIMAN (WATE) – The Harriman Police Department is issuing a warning after two people claiming to be bounty hunters tried to get a woman to get into their vehicle.
Officers say an unknown man and woman driving a black vehicle with dark tinted windows tried to get a woman into their vehicle at Cracker Barrel on February 25.
The man is described as a man around 6 feet tall between the ages of 20 and 30 with a thin build and brown hair. He was also clean shaven. The woman was described to be in her 40s with long blond hair and standing around 5 feet 3.
They were wearing some type of badge on their waist and carrying handcuffs and possibly a gun. When the witness asked them to further identify themselves, they would not comply.
Anyone in this type of situation who believes they are in danger should call 911.
