South Knox County man shot, killed

Neighbor charged with murder, according to Knox County Sheriff's Office.

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A fight between neighbors escalated to a shooting that left one man dead, according to Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

Tuesday night, Jeffrey James Morrison, 37, was found unresponsive with multiple gun shot wounds at a home on 8110 Pickens Gap, according to deputies. He was later pronounced dead at University of Tennessee Medical Center.

The man that lives at the home, Joseph Adam White, 21, was arrested and charged with second degree murder. The sheriff’s office said White has a criminal history in Knox County that includes aggravated assault, numerous traffic violations, public intoxication, violation of order of protection, failure to appear and failure to obey court orders.

White is being held in the Knox County Jail on a $300,000 bond. Knox County Sheriff’s Office said their Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
