KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The annual dinner to benefit Catholic Charities was held Thursday night in Knoxville.
The 31st annual Catholic Charities Dinner, called “An Emerald O’ccasion” was held at the Knoxville Mariott.
The evening included a VIP cocktail reception, appearances by Bishop Stika and Cardinal Rigali and a special program emceed by WATE 6 On Your Side Anchor Kristin Farley. Keynote speaker was local radio personality Hallerin Hilton Hill.
The event is the largest annual fundraiser for Catholic Charities of East Tennessee.
Catholic Charities helps children who are victims of abuse, neglect or other endangerment; vulnerable adults including those living with mental illness, HIV and homeless seniors; families in hardship including immigrants, refugees, the rural poor and those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness; and those facing challenges of unplanned pregnancy.
