NASHVILLE (WKRN) – A Tennessee Senate Committee will discuss a plan on Tuesday that would allow college faculty and staff to carry handguns on campus.
The measure would allow staff and faculty at state colleges to carry properly permitted weapons on campus.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to hear the bill Tuesday.
East Tennessee Senator Mike Bell proposed the bill after the shooting at Umqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon in October. A gunman killed nine people before taking his own life.
