Knoxville police search for hit-and-run driver

Man injured in South Knoxville

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A man was taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center with life threatening injuries after Knoxville Police Department said he was hit in South Knoxville.

Officers said they received a call at 3:08 a.m. Monday of an injured man at the entrance to Captain D’s at 4320 Chapman Highway. The man was identified as Juan Francisco, 20, of Knoxville.

Police said at this time there are no witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call the Knoxville Police Department crime and drug hot-line at (865) 215-7212.

UT Medical Center says Francisco is listed in critical condition.

“We’re trying to get information out to the public that if they saw anything, even a suspicious vehicle speeding away from the area around 2:30 or 3:30 am, give us a call. It could be a very important clue in this case,” said Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell Debusk.
