Knoxville man arrested for multiple robberies

Police arrest man suspected of robbing Marathon gas station and other area businesss.

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Knoxville Police arrested a man suspected of robbing multiple businesses in the area. Police found Jeffrey D. Roberts after responding to a robbery at a Marathon gas station on Monday morning at 11:11 a.m. He is charged with aggravated robbery.

A male suspect walked into the gas station with a knife and left in a silver vehicle. Police spotted the suspect, along with three other people, in a black Nissan a few minutes later. The black vehicle matched the description of a car connected to other robberies.

Knoxville Police interviewed the suspect and other passengers. Officers released the other individuals.

Police believe Roberts is behind the robbery at a Walgreens on Chapman Highway on Monday morning and a Shell gas station on February 7. However, there are no charges at this time for those robberies. Police are continuing the investigation.
