KNOXVILLE (WATE) – From Cincinnati, Ohio, Nathan Niehaus is one of the top commits for the University of Tennessee.
The three-star offensive line prospect has grandparents nearby in Clinton Top and an aunt in Strawberry Plains so he has some “orange blood in him.” His commitment addressed a pressing need in Tennessee’s 2016 signing class.
“He’s got to add a lot of weight, but high up side,” said Inside Tennessee’s Danny Parker. “I think the Tennessee staff is projecting a lot with him, but what Dave Lawson, the strength coach, and his staff has been able to do, engineering football players…. adding weight to them. I think they see Nathan as an extreme up-side who can carry that weight.
