KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Breathtaking photos taken from the space station show how big the blizzard swirling across the United States really is.
Friday afternoon, NASA and NOAA released a series of eye-popping satellite images showing the massive extent of the storm, which may drop historic amounts of snow on Washington DC and other cities over the next 24 to 48 hours. The images were snapped from one of their satellites
Astronaut Scott Kelly, who is currently at the International Space Station even tweeted out photos of the storm. Kelly earned his degree in aviation systems from the University of Tennessee in 1996 before working for NASA.
