KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Vols running back Alvin Kamara announced Monday he will return for the 2016 season.
Kamara posted to his Twitter account that he would be returning to Rocky Top for another year.
The dynamic halfback rushed for 698 yards and added another 291 through the air. Kamara scored eleven touchdowns– seven on the ground, three receiving, and one as a punter returner for Team 119. He transferred to the University of Tennessee following his 2014 season at Hutchinson Community College.
Defensive back Cam Sutton made a similar announcement last week. Sutton said he feels privileged to be a 2016 NFL draft pick and he has always dreamed of playing for the NFL, but he said there are some team, academic and personal goals he would like to achieve before taking that next step.
Jalen Reeves-Maybin also released a similar statement last week saying after much thought he wanted to stay to take Tennessee from “good” to “great.”
