KEY WEST (WFLA) – Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, age 35, was arrested in Key West Wednesday night on a misdemeanor battery charge.
Arrest records show he was taken into custody at a popular bar, Hog’s Breath Saloon on Duval Street, around 8 p.m. He is being held on no bond, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a Key West Police report, Carter was intoxicated when officers arrived Wednesday evening at the Hogs Breath Saloon. The report says a bartender refused to serve Carter and Michael Rae Papayans of Palos Verdes Estates, California, who became agitated and aggressive. The bar’s staff repeatedly told both men to leave.
Once outside, Papayans head-butted one employee and Carter then grabbed a bouncer by the throat, according to the report. Papayans, 27, also was held on a misdemeanor battery charge. Jail records don’t show whether either man has an attorney.
In 2002, Carter was arrested after an incident in a Tampa nightclub. Charges were dropped in that case as part of a plea deal.
