Family members of Costner urged dozens of people at a vigil Friday in Newport to come forward if they had any information about her disappearance.
“We want her found. We love her and we want her home,” DeAnna Hale, Costner’s sister-in-law said.
More than a week has passed since Costner vanished and family members suspect foul play.
“She would never just up and take off. Her phone has not been on since last Thursday when she went missing. She would never ever leave her son,” Jeff Hale, Costner’s brother said.
Hale said Costner texted someone at her son’s school last Thursday saying she was running late due to a flat tire.
“That’s the last time anyone seen or heard from her,” Hale said.
Hale said Costner’s van was found in the parking lot of Union Baptist Church with a slashed tire with no trace of her.
Dozens of people from the Cocke County community came to show their support at an emotional vigil on Friday. They’re praying Costner is somewhere safe and they have a message for her.
“Let us know somehow, some way that you are okay and let us know so that we can come and get you somehow, some way so that we can get you home. Your family needs you and we love you,” Hale said.
The TBI is joining forces with the Cocke County Sheriff’s Department in hopes of bringing her home as well.
Costner is described as standing 5’5″ and weighing 145 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes.
She was last seen wearing a dark green zip-up hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. She has a small tattoo of a yellow sunflower on her right hip. She also frequently wears large silver earrings.
