Walmart supplier recalls 90k pounds of beef patties

WASHINGTON (WATE) – The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced Huisken Meat Company is recalled their beef patties because they may contain “extraneous wood materials.”

Approximately 89,568 pounds of Sam’s Choice Black Angus Vidalia Onion beef patties were recalled. Inspectors said they discovered the wood materials during production.

What to look for:

  • Two pound box containing six pieces of “Sam’s Choice Black Angus Beef Patties with 19% Vidalia ® Onion”
  • Best by dates of 05/17/2016 05/29/2016 and 06/06/2016
  • Establishment number EST. 394A inside the USDA mark of inspection

Sam’s Choice is a private label of Walmart. The USDA said the patties shipped nationwide.

So far, no one has reported injuries. Products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase, according to the USDA. For more information visit their website.
