KNOXVILLE (WATE) – If you’ve been out and about in the Knoxville area you may have seen a real life “Elf on the Shelf.”
Stephanie Widener has a photography business and wanted to do something creative for the holidays.

“I took out some photos and put on Facebook, and I said, ‘My elf has escaped my home and it’s down in the Knoxville area,’ and I asked the public if you see him, can you come out and help me find him,” said Widener.
She said the elf has been everywhere from the supreme court building to riding on a tracker, playing basketball and even riding on a boat.
“He’s been in the Knoxville downtown area and he’s been all over Market Square, Volunteer Landing and he has been seen out in Karns and in the Powell area,” said Widener.
WATE 6 On Your Side spotted the elf hanging from a tree Saturday and texting on a cell phone. Widener said you never know what he’s up to next.
“The main goal was to promote my business and share holiday cheer with the public and the community just to get laughs,” said Widener.
