KNOXVILLE (WATE) – People know the Vols are going bowling for the second year in a row under coach Butch Jones, but the big question is which bowl?
WATE 6 On Your Side Sports analyst Josh Ward says there are two very competitive bowls that could possibly match the team up against some top teams in the ACC or Big Ten.
“There is still a lot of excitement about where Tennessee is,” said Ward. “Most are projecting right now Outback or Belk and they’re both very interested in Tennessee.”

The team is 8-4, ranked in the College Football Playoff top 25 for the first time this year and they’re riding a five game win streak.
Analyst and former Vol Sterling Henton he would like to see the team play in one of the games on new year’s day.
“I personally would love to see them somewhere in Florida, Citrus Bowl or Outback,” said Henton.
Henton says there’s nothing like a vacation for the fans and players.
“I just say Florida because of the weather everybody loves to go in the sunshine state,” he said.
No matter where they go to play he says he knows the support will be big.
“Our fan base will be anywhere that chooses our Tennessee Volunteer football team,” said Henton.
If Alabama wins the SEC championship Saturday, WATE 6 On Your Side’s sports experts project the team will head to the Outback Bowl in Tampa Bay. The Vols have played in that bowl three times, winning their last match-up in 2008. The team will know which bowl they’re playing in on Sunday.
