HAWKINS COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – The trial for the convicted sex offender at the center of a nationwide Amber Alert earlier this year is now pushed back.
Benjamin Shook sparked an Amber Alert after investigators said he lured a 14-year-old Hawkins County girl away from her home.
Shook was set to go to trial in January, but his attorney filed a motion to push back his trial saying he needs more time to prepare their case.
Shooks’s trial date is now set for May 2016.
