Several roads in McMinn County closed due to flooding

ATHENS (WATE) – McMinn County Schools are closed on Wednesday due to flooding and its impact on bus routes.

Law enforcement reported heavy rain caused localized flooding of low-lying areas across the county, which prompted road closures. McMinn County Schools are also closed.

Additional light to moderate rain is expected to continue over the next couple of hours. This will cause additional flooding in poor drainage areas as flooding of some smaller creeks and streams.
