GATLINBURG (WATE) The snow is on the ground and the slopes are ready. Ober Gatlinburg opened their snow tubing attraction to the public on Saturday for the winter season.
The place was packed and people took several trips down the makeshift mountain.
“It was intense, it was really fast and cold but we’re here for the Thanksgiving holiday, we’re originally from Florida and traveled to Townsend and found that this was an area that was great for the kids and had snow,” said Stephanie Mills.
“It was exhilarating, like I felt like I caught air just flying through, you’re skiing but sitting,” said Brittany Harris.
Colleen Ryan and Brittany Harris are teachers in Chattanooga, driving up two years in a row for Thanksgiving break all to try the new attractions.
“I think it’s just a friendly environment and so welcoming and we have a lot of fun here,” said Colleen Ryan.
“Our ski mountain coaster which is available year round, it’s a very exciting ride and you can choose to go as slow as you want or as fast as you want,” said Kate Barido Ober Gatlinburg Marketing & Sales Director.
The park sold out their first two sessions on Saturday, selling 300 hundred tickets.
