COLUMBIA, Mo. (WATE) – The Vols defense forced an interception on the opening possession and turned it into points when Aaron Medley kicked the first of his three first half field goals giving Tennessee a 3-0 lead with 8:19 in the first quarter.
Medley made two more field goals in the first half, including a 44 yard field goal giving Tennessee a 9-0 lead.
Medley missed a field goal from 31 yards out later in the second quarter.
Tennessee was able to score right before halftime when Joshua Dobbs ran in from eight yards giving Tennessee a 16-0 halftime lead.
In the third quarter Medley was true from 30 yards out giving the Vols a 19-0 lead.
Missouri added a touchdown in the fourth quarter and added a two point conversion the cut Tennessee’s lead to 19-8.
The teams then traded punts for the rest of the game.
Tennessee running back Jalen Hurd had a career-high 151 yards on 34 carries.
The Vols improve to 7-4 with the win and will host Vanderbilt on Saturday at 4 p.m.
