KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A homeless Knoxville man was acquitted Thursday on aggravated rape and kidnapping charges, but was convicted of the lesser charges of false imprisonment and aggravated assault.
David Clay was accused in an alleged attack on a stranger inside a Muslim funeral home in 2013.

The alleged victim told the court Clay pulled her in a building, choked her, threatened her with a knife and repeatedly raped her.
Clay was also convicted of a lesser charge in a 2008 rape case.
