ATHENS (WATE) – The McMinn County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals and other law enforcement agencies are continuing to search for a man wanted on several felony charges, in and out of state.
Shane Albertson, 34, has more than 30 outstanding warrants from McMinn County, Knoxville and Florida.
On Oct. 15, deputies attempted a traffic stop on Albertson, but he refused to stop and crashed after a short pursuit. He left the scene armed with a handgun, officers said.
With the help of the U.S. Marshals, Albertson was tracked to a home in Ooltewah, but left the area on foot before they could apprehend him.
Albertson is a member of a white supremacy group and in addition to current active arrest warrants, he is wanted for questioning in crimes in Chattanooga and Knoxville, according to information gathered by law enforcement.
Albertson should be considered armed and dangerous, officers said.
Chattanooga police officers and Hamilton County deputies are assisting with the search.
Anyone with information on Shane Albertson should contact law enforcement immediately through 911, or contact McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy at 423-745-5620 or message him on Facebook or Twitter.
