Anderson County business robbed at knife-point, deputies search for suspect

CLINTON (WATE) – Anderson County deputies are searching for the suspect who robbed a Claxton Dollar General Store at knife-point on Saturday evening.

The suspect is described as a 25-year-old man that weighs 150 pounds and is at least 5’7” tall. he has blond or light brown hair and a short goatee. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a camoflauge color cap, a grey hoodie with the words “Myrtle Beach” in white letters and a blue shirt.

The suspect threatened the clerk with a knife and demanded money. The assistant manager opened the register and the suspect left the business with $375 in cash, deputies said.

Law enforcement was able to track the suspect through the Greenview Village on Old Edgemoor Road to a vacant apartment.

The window of the empty apartment was found open and appeared someone lived there, but no one was found, according to deputies.
