MARYVILLE (WATE) – The Blount County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding a suspect who ran from deputies Thursday morning.
Ricky Allen Cromwell Jr., 33, of Maryville, is wanted for felony violation of probation for aggravated assault and attachment for contempt out of Juvenile Court.
Deputies were patrolling Laws Chapel Road around 10 a.m. when they spotted Cromwell’s vehicle at a residence. The people living there said Cromwell wasn’t home, but other deputies spotted him and a woman running off in the trees behind the residence.
After a short chase, one of the deputies fired his Taser at Cromwell, but he fought though it. The deputy was able to take Cromwell and the woman, Tiffany Lynn Kilby, 25, into custody.
Deputies placed handcuffs on Cromwell and allowed him to sit on the curb, but just seconds later he stood up and ran away. Two K-9 teams and a helicopter crew from Knox County searched for Cromwell for several hours to no avail.
Cromwell was last seen wearing baggy blue jeans and a green shirt. He may still be handcuffed. Anyone with information should call the 24 hour crime hotline at (865) 273-5200.
Kilby was taken into custody and served with four felony warrants for failure to appear in court.
