Pedestrian hit by vehicle in Knoxville, dog does not survive

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knoxville man was walking with his dog when he was struck by a vehicle on Monday. The man suffered non-life threatening injuries, but the dog did not survive, police said.

Daniel Beebe, 34, was walking on Rambling Road near Strolling Road around 10 p.m. when he was hit.

The driver, 25-year-old , who was on her way home from work, told the Knoxville Police Department Beebe was wearing dark clothes that prevented her from seeing him.

Beebe was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with what police say are non-life threatening injuries. He was alert and talking at the scene, police said.

Beebe was with another friend and dog when the accident occurred. They were not struck.

Yarbrough was cited for no proof of insurance.
