Presidential candidate Scott Walker visits Middle Tennessee

Wisconsin Governor and Republican Presidential candidate Scott Walker was in Middle Tennessee Saturday to support a local state senator.

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – Wisconsin Governor and Republican Presidential candidate Scott Walker was in Middle Tennessee Saturday to support a local state senator.

He spoke at the ninth annual Boots and Jeans, BBQ and Beans event, which was a fundraiser for Republican State Senator Jack Johnson for District 23 in Williamson County, at the Factory in Franklin.

Governor Walker was asked about front-runner Donald Trump in and said, “People ahead in the polls right now, if they don’t lay the groundwork they aren’t necessarily going to be the leaders come the primary election.”

He added that doing well in Tennessee is important and that he plans to come back to Nashville a few times this year.
