Roane County Sheriff’s Office captain saves man from drowning

OAK RIDGE (WATE) – A Roane County Sheriff’s Office captain was able to save a man from drowning Friday in Oak Ridge.

The sheriff’s office says in a Facebook post a call was dispatched that a man had fallen into the water on Blair Road. Capt. Tim Hawn was less than a mile away. He immediately put himself at risk to save the man.

Capt. Hawn was able to retrieve the man and pull him to safety. The Oak Ridge Fire Department was able to pull Capt. Hawn and the victim from the steep embankment.
