DisABILITY Resource Center holds ‘Street Smart’ campaign to address road safety

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – DisABILITY Resource Center will be kicking off a “Street Smart” campaign as part of a national program to increase awareness of street safety to pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.

“Crosswalks count and we need to review and re-learn the rules of the road to ensure the safety of all of us, whether on foot, on bikes or in cars,” said organizer Susan Watson.

This event will be held on Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the corner of Gay Street and Wall Street.

Mayor Madeline Rogero will be the keynote speaker.
