LACKANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Sources tell WIVB that the FBI executed a warrant at a home in Lackawanna Wednesday morning. A press conference by the FBI is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
The U. S. Attorney William Hochul is getting ready to hold a press conference to discuss the arrest of an individual accused of attempting to support a terrorist organization. Sources said the arrest was related to an ISIS investigation. The search warrant was executed at a home near Olcott Street and Ingham Avenue.
The home is one block away from a home where two members of the Lackawanna 6 lived. They were a group of six men who traveled to Afghanistan before the 9/11 attacks for terrorist training.
Neighbors tsaid they were woken up by helicopters early Wednesday morning. One said having the FBI in the neighborhood is crazy and scary, because it’s a quiet neighborhood. The warrants for Wednesday’s arrest are sealed, according sources, but more details should be released later.
